Accreditation of the Master of Science Programs

All seven Executive Master of Science Programs of the HECTOR School are accredited by ASIIN since 2005 or 2012.

ASIIN was acknowledged as the first European continental accreditation agency by the Washington Accord (W.A.). It is responsible for examining and certifying new Bachelor's and Master's programs in engineering, informatics/computer sciences, natural sciences, mathematics, geosciences, and pharmacy.

Introduction of Bachelor's and Master's programs by Germany's universities in line with European political and statutory guidelines mainly has the following goals that are also essential for the HECTOR School:

  • Making education more international and offering students a high standard of education in Germany.
  • Adapting degree programs more quickly and more flexibly to the requirements of the market.
  • Using the two-cycle degree format to open up continuing training opportunities in lifelong learning through career-integrated master's programs.

Since September 2002, when the predecessor (ASII) was transformed into ASIIN, this accreditation agency has positioned itself as the competent and qualified partner for universities seeking accreditation of their new degree programs.

ASIIN offers the very best credentials to ensure that interdisciplinary degree programs are reviewed quickly and professionally. It brings together specialist committees and reviewers active in the respective disciplines. ASIIN defines procedures and criteria for the evaluation of degree programs (ASIIN Requirements for Accreditation) in accordance with standards and guidelines specified by the German Accreditation Council (Akkreditierungsrat). ASIIN negotiates and concludes agreements with foreign accreditation institutions on cooperation and on the mutual recognition of accredited degree programs.
