Lifelong Learning Summit

On May 20, 2022, the HECTOR School of Engineering & Management, the Technology Business School of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), invites all those interested to the online congress "Lifelong Learning Summit". From 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., experts from industry and university will present practicable concepts for a culture of lifelong learning. "The congress is aimed at companies as well as public bodies and institutions who are seeking to maintain and develop the full potential of their employees and their company," said Martina Waldner, Senior Program Consultant at HECTOR School. The presentations will be held in German. Attendance is free of charge. Further information and registration is available at: www.hectorschool.kit.edu/anmeldung-2022.php

"You never stop learning," emphasizes Waldner. "Particularly in times of rapid digital and technological change, it is important to continuously educate and develop experienced employees in order to foster their motivation and competencies for tackling new tasks and, simultaneously, ensure the future of the business." The half-day "Lifelong Learning Summit" illustrates how this can be accomplished. The opening topic, "Companies in Transition," will trace the successful realignment of the Rolls-Royce Solutions GmbH. The presentation will detail the measures Rolls-Royce Solutions implemented, such as their custom-made qualification program of around 100 employees, that allowed for the company to succeeded in expanding their company profile from that of a traditional engine manufacturer into becoming a provider of integrated solutions. The first block of topics is rounded off with the presentation of the guide "Four steps for a culture of lifelong learning".

The second part of the congress will be dedicated to "New Perspectives". Here, among others, a successful personnel developer and a committed team leader will report on their policies of appreciative and specified employee development. They will highlight ways of effectively motivating and retaining employees who want to take on new challenges and help to shape the future of the company. The keynote speech on digitization in Germany in an international comparison offers a new perspective. From the view of an experienced consultant for data analytics and digital transformation, it will illustrate why, even in times of comprehensive digitization, it is still people who are at the center of success and not technology alone.

The Lifelong Learning Summit will also feature an activity program with active stretching and yoga. These activities have the added effect of showing the participants the benefits of taking time out of the workday for healthy breaks.
