Prof. Dr. Andreas Oberweis

Prof. Dr. Andreas Oberweis is Director of Software Engineering, Innovation, Strategy and Transfer at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). As an industrial engineer, he focuses on bridging business process engineering and software engineering, with an emphasis on end-to-end modeling and quality assurance of complex systems. His research addresses e-collaboration, social software, and the role of mobility in business process management. He also serves as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Deputy Speaker of the Competence Field Organization and Service Engineering, contributing to the strategic development of interdisciplinary research and innovation at KIT.
Prof. Dr. Thomas Schuster

Prof. Dr. Thomas Schuster is Professor of Databases and Software Engineering, working in Information Systems at the Faculty of Business and Law. He leads the B.Sc. programs in Business Informatics and Digital Enterprise Management and teaches across multiple master’s programs in engineering and business faculties. As head of the futureLab, he coordinates the KI Lab Nordschwarzwald in cooperation with regional economic partners and serves as scientific coordinator of Campus IT. His research focuses on data analytics, technical data protection, and sustainability analysis of cloud-based application systems, combining software engineering expertise with applied digital innovation.
