From System Design to Real-World Validation

Experience connected and automated mobility where academic expertise meets real-world vehicle testing. In cooperation with Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), HECTOR School brings participants to Budapest and the ZalaZONE Automotive Proving Group to explore how complex mobility systems are integrated, tested and validated.

Budapest University of Technology

Theoretical Foundation at BME

At BME's Automated Drive Lab, participants explore the technologies and methods behind connected and automated mobility. The interdisciplinary environment brings together vehicle engineering, control systems and computer science and provides the foundation for understanding complex vehicle systems.

Key Topics

Explore how vehicles combine data from multiple sensors to build comprehensive understanding of their surroundings. Learn how sensor fusion and V2X communication support reliable perception and enable vehicles to interact with other road users and infrastructure.

Understand how vehicle dynamics and automated control work together in connected and automated vehicles. Explore how control systems respond to the vehicle's behavior and contribute to the safe and relable operation of automated driving functions.

Examine how functional safety and cybersecruity are addressed throughout the development and validation of complex vehicle systems. Gain insights into identifying cricital interfaces, managing systems requirements and validating safety and security under realistic conditions.

Hands-on Experience at ZalaZONE

From virtual models to real vehicles

At the ZalaZONE Automotive Proving Ground, participants take their knowledge from the classroom to a real testing environment. They work with test vehicles , V2X systems, digital track models, HD maps, LiDAR data and Scenario-in-the-loop methods to explore how automated driving functions perform under controlled, real-world conditions.

Virtual Meets Real

Connect virtual models and simulations with real vehicles and testing environments.

Test Automated Functions

Apply automated driving functions to controlled traffic scenarios and evaluate their performance.

Validate Safety and Cybersecurity

Explore how safety and cybersecurity requirements are validated together within complex mobility systems.

From System Design to the Test Track

The defining strength of the Budapest and ZalaZONE module is the combination of academic expertise, industry-oriented development and testing on a real automotive proving ground. Participants connect system architecture, simulation and integration with validation on an actual vehicle - gaining methods and experience they can transfer directly to innovation projects in their organizations.

The Systems Integration and Validation module is part of HECTOR School's Executive Master program in Mobility Systems Engineering and Management. As an international module, it takes participants beyond Karlsruhe to leading academic and testing enviroments in Hungary.
