Certificate Program: Finance and Value

This certificate program combines three complementary short courses and a one-day case study in a structured learning path.

Participants who successfully complete the Certificate Program and pass the final examination receive the corresponding ECTS credits. These credits are fully recognized as one module within the HECTOR School Master of Science program.

Participants build a broad understanding of management accounting, sustainability, and strategic financial management. The program further explores how financial analysis, performance measurement, sustainability principles, and corporate finance interact to support informed decision-making, long-term value creation, and responsible business management. In addition, participants apply concepts and methods from finance and accounting in a practical one-day case study on firm valuation.

Program Structure

This certificate program combines three complementary short courses and a one-day case study in a structured learning path.

Participants build a broad understanding of management accounting, sustainability, and strategic financial management. The program explores how financial analysis, performance measurement, sustainability principles, and corporate finance interact to support informed decision-making, long-term value creation, and responsible business management.

In addition, the program includes a one-day case study led by Prof. Dr. Martin E. Ruckes and Dr. Jan-Oliver Strych. In this practical session, participants practice the valuation of a firm by applying concepts and methods from finance and accounting.

Management Accounting

Introduction to Management Accounting, covering core concepts of cost accounting, budgeting, performance measurement, and financial decision-making, enabling the effective planning, control, and optimization of business operations.
